How we count & rank TikTok accounts
1. Weekly public profile snapshots
We track a curated pool of 175+ of the largest TikTok accounts globally. Once a week, our job reads each profile's live follower count, total heart count, and video count directly from TikTok and stores a dated row in our snapshot table.
2. Account type classification
Every account is tagged strictly by what kind of entity runs it: Creator (individual TikTok-native or video creators), Brand (companies, sports leagues, media networks), or Music & celebrity (recording artists, actors, athletes). We never guess demographic attributes from a profile.
3. Median views & breakout multipliers
Average views get skewed by a single 100M-view viral hit. Instead, we compute the median views across a creator's recent posts and score their biggest hit as a multiplier of that baseline (for example, 8.4× their usual).
